Michael F. Drywa, Jr., has been a Senior Attorney with Sims & Sims since 2006 representing clients in business and commercial law, employment law, contracts, civil litigation, state and federal administrative actions, arbitration, mediation, and appeals. Attorney Drywa holds a B.S. in Industrial Technology from Rhode Island College (1988) and attained his Juris Doctor from Roger Williams University School of Law in 1998, where, in his final year, he also served as a Notes and Comments Editor on the Roger Williams University Law Review. Attorney Drywa is licensed to practice in the state and federal courts of Massachusetts and Rhode Island and is a member of the Rhode Island Bar Association and the Plymouth County Bar Association.
Attorney Drywa is an experienced civil trial attorney, regularly trying cases to verdict. His particular areas of expertise involve counseling business clients (including non-profit companies) on general corporate and commercial matters and handling all manner of employment-related legal issues on behalf of employers and employees. In addition, Attorney Drywa handles appeals of administrative agency and court decisions and on behalf of his clients and regularly argues cases before the Massachusetts Court of Appeals, the Rhode Island Supreme Court, and the First Circuit Court of Appeals.
In addition, since 2002, Attorney Drywa has served as General Counsel to the Rhode Island International Film Festival and sits on its Advisory Board, counseling and representing the organization on matters involving its non-profit status, e-commerce, advertising, trademark law, licensing, and employment matters.
